What I will tell you in a bar or in a back room about what I think Senator meant by saying that if the Republican Party objected to Health Care with a public option, it mirrored those against the abolition of slavery is more shock value than what I am going to say to you here and in public. (I just gave an overview of his statement, I was not supplied with his speech verbatim). Reid was ambiguous enough to prevent anybody from correctly concluding his exact intent and meaning. So while I have given his text as an overview, Reid nevertheless and beyond any misunderstanding used slavery as a wedge, an arm twister and most implicating to him, as an actionable word. He did use the word slavery as the nexus of his argument.Do you remember that teary eyed talk by Nancy Pelosi just at the time when everyone and his uncle was talking racism? In hindsight I think she detoured us in a similar fashion. She said we have to curtail our racist tendencies because she had seen riots and they were on the way if racism continued. I thought she was talking about the race riots beginning in 1964 and especially because at the time our family apartment was 1 mile north of Harlem. Turns out she elusively and deftly framed her talk about the gay murders in San Francisco a long time ago. I not only never realized this artful twist but being from the tri-state area 3,000 miles away, Nancy Pelosi shrewdly detoured me into thinking of racism possibly causing the riots of my lifetime ie. Watts, Harlem et al. All of us have come light years from those awful times and we all know that that kind of thing will never happen again. I think any American listening to her would make the same conclusion,a guy in Arkansas who had never lived in San Franciso would be just as misled as well. Please remember that it it depends what the definition of is is. Another is I voted for the 84million but I did not vote for it. If we get to the public option you will be handled in the same way. He had a heart attack or maybe indigestion. I am retiring tomorrow. Jay R
