Tonight's Debate

October 7, 2008

Tonight's debate was as expected a push except for just one little bit of formidable importance offered by John McCain. Did you notice that he was confident and specifically aware of where the perpetrators of most of our terrorist issues are located. Obama when faced with the same question was general in his answer and most probably does not have any idea where the bad guys are considering he has never once during the campaign expressed this knowledge. From what we know of John McCain having close ties to the military and evidently the intelligence services, it is understandable that John McCain was telling the truth. Granted, Obama with his movie star looks and statuesque appearance will always have the advantage in most debates if you want to dwell on his physical presentation. But think about this, John McCain knows where to go and what to do to ensure our safety and maybe save our very lives. America should put their shoulder to the wheel (An Alan Ginsberg paraphrase from his epic work "America") and start to really quantify these two candidates. I would not let the economy, which has many emotional components cause you to make a uninformed decision that you will live to regret.

Guilt By Association

October 5, 2008

Not being a licensed attorney I can only suggest that my impression as a layman of guilt by association indicates that you cannot charge or convict an individual by virtue of their being socially associated with another who is found guilty of a crime. Guess what, we the American people are not contemplating a case with this Presidential Election whose venue is in District Court in Anytown USA. This election is for keeps and determines the health of the economy, two or three wars and your safety right here in the Homeland. It is being more and more troubling as Sarah Palin began the new procedures about exposing Obama and his past connections and acquaintances. I personally would stop at nothing to get at the truth and I am sure that under normal  circumstances, a presidential candidate is not going to be convicted of anything. I do not consider vetting of this kind guilt by association. If something is going on with someone who may end up as the leader of the Free World, let's stop parsing legality or etiquette, the voters must be informed of any matter that portends any implication that would be potentially adverse to our nation.

Where is the AMA and other special interest groups?

October 5, 2008
I have always felt that Mr. Obama's Great Society plans are hypothetical and fundamentaly speaking, "The best laid plans of mice and men". His extravagant health plan is a proposal and if we consider it from a historical vantage point is a long ways away from being signed into law. But the way Obama speaks of his deeper voyage into socialism in America he phrases his health care plans in a manner that six pack Joe thinks it is going to happen January 2. Nobody mentions the American Medical Association and how they are going to react to Obama's views should he win the prize. Doctors today are not the millionaires of yesteryear due to astronomical insurance costs, the expenses of running and maintaining a practice, the hours they have to put in, the new laws that affect their vocation and the legal costs to worry about. Fairly big staffs are required to run medical offices and these are specialized and trained people making strong money and benefits. While it is true that there are vastly wealthy specialists, there are also doctors still paying off their medical school tuition. How come Obama does not bring the American people into his confidence and let us know if his plan will cause less earnings for the medical profession which is already diminished by the insurers. That being the case, by the time the medical lobbyists and pressure groups and pharmaceutical conglomerates get through with Obama's idealistic outline, it's going right down the shredder.

Of course you know that I support McCain-Palin and their health plan which I think will win over the Md's and individuals like myself who have retired from government and have the plans that are unlimited in coverage and virtually pay it all so to speak. I worked in a government facility for about 17 years to earn my retirement and benefits. Because McCain offers choice based on tax benefits, he presents a benefit to all Americans especially those of us who do not want some watered down government issued, rest in the hallway, we're  cleaning your room health card which I suspect we will get should we not elect him. Just to set the record straight, unlike one of the Democratic leaders that I saw on Fox the other day who claimed that health insurance for a family of four costs upwards of $15,000 which was his way of arguing for Obama, I must disagree with him by thousands going down. I am not suggesting that all of us should pay for our health insurance but I am guessing that the Democrats will try to absurdly elevate the cost of a private plan in an attempt to further Obama's idea which again is not a law yet. If you recall the specificity issue from the primaries, you better believe that non-specificity has not exited yet.

A Biden Beauty

October 2, 2008

Did any of you get that Biden silioquy which included a Jesse Helms crippled family member in braces? I never could put straight a Rubic's cubic either. Also, Joe may consider engaging an opthomologist because it seemed  like his eyes appeared to be like slits. Anyway Sarah Palin was the Green Bay Packers and Vince Lombardi in the old days when they were unbeatable. She was glowing and enthusiastic and I understand that impact as I was a salesman and a Dale Carnegie graduate, the former for 20 years. Also I think Sarah Palin was played some dirty tricks by the anchor people and general left leaning media. Maybe Katy Couric slipped her a mickey the other day but this was a different Sarah. Tonight she was an Executive Branch leader and she made all Americans proud. Obama ducking Congress on cell phone detail and tonight's victory for Sarah Palin will filter into the polls within 48 hours.

John McCain Was 100% Right-Keyword Fundamentals

September 22, 2008

John McCain only referred to the FUNDAMENTALS of the economy being good. You would have to be an old time stock picker like me or have knowledge of the economy or Wall Street to realize that McCain was only referring to the underpinnings of the economy such as unemployment, interest rates, GNP, consumer sentiment and other typical data that we see from time to time on our local news. Look at these figures as of the date McCain made a statement that the public did not understand because they are not versatile enough in prior economics1 education, the media too failed to investigate semantics and the Democrats thought was a big pound of fish and you will understand that the fundamentals are good. Of course there is a housing crisis, a credit crunch and layoffs, American people suffering and a troubled economy. So why is John McCain being drawn and quartered for something he never referred to and a statement that was true. McCain was too highbrow by separating the mitigating features of the total economic picture, not realizing that he was addressing an audience needing improved education, something the Obama campaign is banking on.

A NOUVEAU WATERGATE MAY BE BREWING

September 19, 2008

From what I am seeing on Fox when I got up this AM, we may be seeing political involvement in the breaking and entry of Sarah Palin's computer, then electronic gathering of of personal information, some described as conceivably classified and then the posting of said material on a separate web site for public inspection. I do not know who these jerks were who committed what appears to be a "wrong way Corrigan" offense but I'll bet the farm that when they are arraigned and then if brought to State and Federal courts to face charges if indicted they will be looking at a Bird Man of Alcatraz stretch if found guilty in all those court systems and the countless counts that may arise. Sarah Palin'computer may turn out to be the Watergate Hotel of the 21 Century. Also, Michelle lost the tempo again when she started a new tactic of innuendo or subliminal  advertising when she joked about a reference to Sarah Palin, a Vice Presidential Candidate and middle aged woman as being "cute", just like Obama used the word  "sweetie" at an airport, addressing a woman he did not know and then in a gauche and unsolicited manner obtained her phone number and gratuitously called her at home to make political hay. Did these two really have Harvard Law Degrees.? From what I have seen through Election 2008 I would go pro se in a corporate fraud deal in a State Supreme court rather then having them on the case. Please consider this, I have never won one solitary argument in my own 30 year marriage. Voters also, are beginning to figure out that if elected, Obama's wife Michelle will be the Dick Cheney of his administration. I will give you one of those New York City expressions that people living in other states will not recognize, if the Obamas somehow wind up in the White House, we are all "going down the tubes". Okay, the tubes are trains that go from Manhattan to Hoboken, New Jersey.

The Fundamentals Of The Economy

September 18, 2008
Ever since I got married I never had any cash but plenty of stock playing ability which runs in my family.  I retired at 56 so here's my take about what John McCain's much criticized statement when Wall Street had another bad day and Obama blamed him for it really alluded to. I'll will take the position that John McCain s disposition was absolutely on the mark point by point.

1. The unemployment number in the US is a little past 6%, slightly elevated but nothing to indicate the terrible Depression that is off in the stratosphere, and that some man in the street interviews unknowingly spoke of on the networks.
2. Interest rates are historically low, certainly supporting McCain's statement

3.The Federal Reserve, which just recently showed an inclination to jump in, held steady a few days ago which shows their belief that this is another cyclical recession, maybe, but certainly no one human being or administrative policy in Washington can cure most components of these events. We all have been through these periods before but now that we have outsourced our jobs and become a service economy, these are two of the culprits.

4. When I started working for local government and began my 403B, the Dow was at 700 in  1991. We have had 500 point drops in
1987 and I believe 1998 and scores of 200 and 300 drops. Corrections are sometimes are healthy and give intuitive stock players a chance to buy low and years later go down to Bimini for good.

The debacle  was not a stock market thing, the market does not desire uncertainty such as Obama being our next President. The only problem is AIG although people not familiar with Wall Street blew this up into being a run on the banks. AIG apparently had to be bailed out which may amount to 85 billion. That is a separate and unrelated issue to the other mergers and buyouts. I am now with Merrill Lynch for 20 years and our life savings are situated with my excellent financial advisor who from the beginning has been nothing more than a valued friend and practically a member of my own family. When I heard about Bank America buying them,I finished eating breakfast, called my friends at Merrill and simply told them that we will now have a stronger concern with our new owner but if my broker is not there I won't be a client either.
So the bottom line is that John McCain was only referring to the fundamentals or underpinnings of the economy, not the housing crisis, the credit crunch or any other attendant issues so he was right. Obama played the blame game and was wrong on every point. Take this advice, if you watch CNBC or Fox Financial or Bloomberg for one hour a day forever and you are shrewd enough, you can do anything with finances today and forever more.

They Are Making A Concerted Effort RE:Sarah Palin

September 17, 2008
These scammers on the e-mail incident today who illegally hacked into Sarah Palin's private e-mail account are the criminal countervailing
force to the legitimate destroyers from the old, burn the bra feminist movement and the big time journalists from Washington DC and the far left all of whom are independently vying to destroy Sarah Palin's integrity because they know they will lose the election if they do not bring her down and there goes  their agenda.. Sarah Palin will go on as the Vice Presidential candidate serving under the great Senator from Arizona, John McCain, who has served his country in the most magnanimous manner conceivable in military history to win the Election 2008 in November. The best thing to do with these sleazy hackers, and forgotten and antiquated frustrated former activists who I have yet to see on network television is to completely ignore them and in the case of the hackers, let the authorities do what they do best. When a top movie critic deliberately writes nothing about an actor, the thespians' career is over. Sarah Palin should just not comment on all these characters trying to demean her because for the most part they are afraid of her. They fully realize that the American people see Obama as a disorganized individual who due to his abject inexperience (he blamed John McCain for Wall Street being Wall Street) could not possibly handle today's problems either globally or domestically. I suggest Sarah Palin play the part of the disinterested high profile candidate who is the very politician that the media and voters are talking about continuously. The detractors as we used to say in Sheepshead Bay, couldn't get arrested in Brooklyn.

McCain-Palin Is Starting To Look Good

September 16, 2008

When I saw the polling numbers on Fox tonight, even though it is early, I started to feel confidence and enthusiasm. The McCain campaign in my view should really turn it up because it is still politics and although I am sure the ticket will overcome a faltering and inexperienced candidate who actually blamed John McCain for essentially what was in reality a mismanagement with respect to an unimaginable and an unforgettable shakeup and realignment on Wall Street. This convoluted impression on Obama's  part of how the US economy probably pushed  the McCain-Palin ticket upwards. He has consistently hurled ageism remarks at John McCain which only serve to enrage senior citizens, the most reliable voters in America. The nationwide polls are still tight but New York and New Jersey beyond anyone's expectation may swing for McCain. In some states McCain is building up impressive leads and astoundingly is up there with Obama in Minnesota. Young voters, once an Obama cinch are not so cohesive now. Many specific voting blocks pinpointed by race and gender are  indicating a tide across the nation for McCain. But just remember Truman  Dewey and Kennedy Nixon, the poll that counts is when it's 9pm in my neck of the woods on November 4 and the machines are opened. The McCain-Palin campaign should take this uplift and run it hard all the way to the finish line.

Our Country Depends On Voter's Due Diligence

September 15, 2008
I never understood why when polled, voters give so much praise to Obama as the Lone Ranger who is better for the economy than John McCain who they evaluate as better at keeping Americans safe. Let's judge John McCain by his checkmate and strategic pick of Sarah Palin as opposed to Obama picking a good diplomat with no military experience. I have virtually lived off the stock market for years along with other pickers in my family. The market is our genetic gift but buy and hold is where you make your money. Do not be swayed by today's horrific debacle on Wall Street. I am 57 and I have never seen anything remotely resembling the blood that was on the floor today. Still, no matter what, the market historically has always come back to be an investment with the best average annual return. Ultimately, the Market is the biggest casino in the world so if you cannot stand the bumps put your loot in a money market. Getting back to Mr. Obama and Mr. McCain, nobody on  his respective ticket is an economist or a CPA or has worked in a Federal financial agency. I would not allow Obama to pull the blame game tomorrow, the US Economy is a cyclical phenomena and it is impossible to blame anyone as the select individual for all that has gone down the drain. Obama or McCain, whoever is the victor will be thoroughly advised. To hear Obama tell it, he insinuates to his base that he will be the lynch pin in fixing our economic swamp. Even a community organizer cannot predict the direction of unemployment when  we no longer manufacture much in our service economy and a looming health care crisis is worsening.
